The Road less traveled
The Gate House is located off the beaten path, which means that it guarantees its guests the utmost in privacy, seclusion, and quiet. We believe that a vacation should allow maximum rest, and therefore our rooms are simple oases of peace — no telephone or televisions will intrude. For your safety, there is 24-hour access to a telephone at the registration desk if you cannot avoid that contact with the outside world.

Not even the hum of an air conditioner will disturb your sleep: you will be lulled by the unique vibrations of Saban tree frogs, Mother Nature's gentle reminder of Who is in charge. Caribbean nights are cool and mosquito free and the velvet sky will extend its milky way for you to travel to dreamland.
The Gate House faces the rising sun, yet enjoys the colors that light up the sky at the end of the day. If you want to see ol' sol take his final dip of the day or try a Kodak moment of that famous Caribbean "green flash," ask us to direct you to the island's westward facing lookouts. Scuba diving at uncontested world-class sites and hiking along Saba's many groomed island trails are sought after activities. But there's a variety of other pastimes: browsing in the quaint village shops, fishing off the Flat Point Lava flow, attending a Saba Lace session (great way to pick up island lore), seeing a 1937 video which portrays Saba as the "island of women," or watching birds in the unique red-billed Tropicbird colony off Fort Bay.

Saba considers beaches quite ho-hum — and opted for sheer cliffs plunging straight into the sea about 500,000 years ago. If you need that shore dive or snorkel, you will be accommodated at Cove Bay, Fort Bay, and a seasonal beach at Well's Bay.
Saba also has two museums and two public libraries. Be aware as you stroll around that Saba does not have an ATM and not all businesses take credit cards. If they do, some stores have a minimum and others may tack on a processing fee.
Who needs an ATM anyway — don't move an inch from the Gate House and have 'em come to you. Make a reservation for on site massages/facials or yoga lessons. Between those gorgeous French meals, of course — breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Gate House also caters to those one-time events in your life: marriage, family reunions — or — that very special tryst. The food will be excellent, the libations superb, the flower arrangements magnificent — every detail attended to with precision, and that unique Gate House personal touch.
